September Roundup: New Campus Announcement

We’re now a month into the final semester of 2021 and we have some very exciting announcements to share! The one that’s decidedly been the hardest to keep a secret is the news that Nimbus will be moving to a new state-of-the-art campus on January 4th, 2022! Daily Hive reports (and more on this below).

Nimbus is moving in the New Year

When the pandemic hit, we adapted by moving our classes to an online format, then to a blended in-person-online format as restrictions eased. With schools around the country now fully reopened, we count ourselves as incredibly fortunate that our staff and students rallied to embrace innovative ways to continue their education in recording and media over the past 12 months. Over this period, we recognized the opportunity to improve our studios and facilities to better support our students and staff.

Besides its great location in a bustling part of the city, our new facilities at Granville and Broadway feature upgraded technology for our studios that reflects what is used in the industry today — specifically, audio over IP technology that will allow students to record to and from any room to any other room. This type of platform also allows for seamless recording between separate facilities.

Introducing your new Student Representative

We’d like to thank everyone who participated in nominating their new Student Representative this past week! We are pleased to announce that Korbin Parker received the highest number of nominations and therefore has been appointed as Student Representative for this term. We look forward to working closely with Korbin over the next few months to make this term as rewarding as possible for both students and staff.

Speaking of Korbin, the producer, also known as kerbthakid, was featured on a recent episode of ArtForm where he talks about inclusivity in hip-hop and opens up about the accident that almost ended his career and his life. Check it out.
