Welcome to the third week of term! We hope everyone’s feeling inspired and excited to see where the rest of the semester will take you. If this is your second, third or fourth term — and you’re up for it — we’d love it if you would share your positive experience with a Google Review. Google Reviews help potential students get a sense of what they might achieve at Nimbus — and it’s powerful when they hear it from a current student. Thank you in advance if you can take the time and do this for us — and for those students considering Nimbus.
Before you get too deep into the trenches of summer term, we have a couple of opportunities we wanted to bring to your attention. Here is everything you need to know that’s going on this month:
Applications for the Dylan Sterling Bursary are open
Dylan Sterling was a young music enthusiast who dreamed of having a career in the music industry. After graduating from high school in Kelowna, he moved to Vancouver in 2010 to pursue audio engineering and music production school. Sadly, Dylan passed away suddenly and peacefully in his sleep from heart failure at the age of 22, before he was able to begin his schooling at Nimbus.
Today, in honour of Dylan, his parents are helping support another young artist’s dreams by presenting one Nimbus student with a $1000 bursary.
Applications close June 1st — apply here.
Music BC is hiring
Music BC is seeking a new Administrative Assistant to join their Vancouver team. The applicant should be a motivated, proactive and organized individual who’s passionate about the arts and enjoys working with a small team.
This is a full-time position at their Vancouver headquarters. The deadline to apply is June 4th. Review the full job description and apply here.
Our next Virtual Open House is this Thursday (May 20th)
You know the drill! Tell your friends, family or anyone you know who’s interested in pursuing a career in the music business to join us at our Virtual Open House. We’ll be talking about our programs, answering questions and giving first-hand insight into the Nimbus experience. We will be waiving the $250 application fee for anyone who attends.

Listen to this: new music from RAIAAN & Prizmal
We’re excited to introduce two new tracks from Nimbus alumni! First up, ‘Tell Me,’ the new single from singer-songwriter RAIAAN. If you’re a fan of romantic lyrics and upbeat acoustic guitar melodies, this catchy song is sure to snag a spot on your feel-good playlist.
Next up, Prizmal’s new release has already hit more than 12K plays on Spotify, and for good reason. The Vancouver producer describes his music as ‘prismatic refractions of light translated into colourful sounds.’ If that doesn’t give you enough incentive to check out ‘Parade,’ then we don’t know what will.
